Newman's Own Thin & Crusty Pizza with coupon and GIVEAWAY

As a general rule I stay away from frozen pizza because as a general rule I stay away from processed foods. But sometimes, a frozen pizza is just the ticket for a night when the babysitter is preparing dinner for the kids. Now I don't have to sacrifice health and taste for convenience.

BlogHer sent me a coupon to try Newman's Own Thin & Crusty Pizzas (about $6) seeing as how it couldn't very well ship one. Cost effectively.

My store carried only the Pepperoni variety (uncured), which is perfect for my children's tastes. I was thrilled to see on the front of the box, "No artificial ingredients. Only minimally processed." And I was happy to see on the nutrition label that the multigrain crust containsd flaxseed and that there are 0 grams of transfat.

I served this pizza during an end-of-summer playdate. Three young boys deVOURed it. Gone in a flash. They told me it was "Dewicious, Mrs Weeble!" So in order to try it myself I went back to the store (a different one) to get another Newman's Own pizza.

There are 7 flavors and I was hoping to try Newman's Own White Pizza, but all I found at the second store was 4 Cheese.

The verdict from Tessa and me? Yum! None of the processed-food-chemical taste that I revile in frozen pizzas. Just crispy crust, fresh sauce, and a tasty cheese blend.

I am not surprised my children gave Newman's Own a thumbs up. But I am surprised I did.
